Favorite DE Blades?

Yeah Feathers are very sharp but as was mentioned it can be used with a mild razor with out much fear. If you put them in an open comb or slant head you need to watch a bit or you'll be sticking bits of tissue all over your face.

I generally use Feathers, Personna, Gillette Blue Merkur and Wilkinson Swords even. I only use DE's when i'm in a rush so they don't get too much play.

Interesting discussion about DE blades on which are sharper than others. I've also made the same observation. I'm a Feather's fan and I tried a number of others. Perhaps when comparing, keep in mind we are talking about 'razor sharp' blades. All should be razor sharp. I think the question should be; "which is the smoothest consistent edge?" Razor sharp edges can have a less than smooth edge. When sharpening straight razors, a microscope will disclose which of the razor sharp edges are smooth and will shave best. The same microscope will identify a razor sharp edge with micro serrations on a less than perfectly honed edge. Think smooth and sharp not just sharp.

I was gifted some King Gillette blades and they are solid performers. I'm still avoiding Gillette blades made in eastern Europe, though.

Feather are my favorite with Astra being my second choice.

My favorites were anything made with Japanese steel. My face just likes them a lot better. Shaving Revolution, Feather, Facon, etc. I only use it on my upper back now, around the t-shirt line since switching to a straight razor.

King C blades are actually very nice

I still don't know which are my favorites , I put a blade in a razor and shave and then when it gets to the next time to shave for some reason it's like I forget if I got a good shave with whatever blade I had used .. I need to get my blades better organized and maybe do a log of what I thought after each use....

Lol, sounds pretty normal to me. Since my hand tremors have been worse and I haven't been using a straight much, I've been trying different blades and different razors and some razors like certain blades and others don't like those blades.
