As some of y'all know I road a Harley. Well last Oct. I went on a bike ride to Daytona Florida for the Biketober fest. a Bike rally. I wish I could remember it. Now this is a little over 800 miles from my home. Just on the other side of Birmingham Alabama I had a wrecks. I spent 3 weeks in the Birmingham university hospital. 3 broke ribs broke elbow and damaged liver and they removed my spline. came close to being dead. they then released me to Jackson Madison hospital Tn where I spent a little over 4 weeks with internal infection and Double pneumonia. I started my trip weighing 228 lb and by the time i got to the rehab center in parsons Tn I was down to 191 lbs and not eating. Couldn't swallow. I was released from the rehab center only to be told I had Covid. lucky me. That's been just a little over a week and I've started eating again and now able to take my daily meds. you know blood pressure heart diabetes meds and 3 or 4 more little pills. I've got this tube sticking out of my stomach where the wife has been feeding me and I beat my meds into a powder the mix with water . So things now are looking up. I'm able to swallow my pills and for the last 3 days have been eating real food. Because of the tube in the stomach I've been sleeping in my over size recliner. I've been in worse condition but can't really remember when. Anyway the Bike was totaled. Insurance paid more for it than I could have sold it for and the wife is happy because I'm no longer riding. I guess it's time to quite because I'm 74 years old and you can't act like a kid for ever. anyway I'm back

Is there a Doctor in the house ?
Rog! Welcome back! I was wondering where you'd gone. You poor devil, that's a nasty experience. Once you get rid of the G-tube you'll be able to sleep properly and things will get better. You're going to have a pile of new vaccines to get as part of life without a spleen.
But to get to the important stuff, have you got a beard or did they submit you to the ultimate insult of an electric shaver?

Glad you survived this ordeal. I rode since I was 13, now 81. Sold mine at 69 years old. Just didnt feel safe on it any longer. I miss it a lot. Had a lot of bikes over the years mostly Harleys I probably put over 300,000 miles on a motorcycle easily.

No beard. My wife shaved me with a store bought safety razor but I kept my stash. I go see my cardiologist the 2 Jan and we will have a good conversation
