    Default Shumate Hone?

Recently acquired a hone which is marked SHUMATE / St Louis.
I know that Shumate originated in Austin Texas and then went to St Louis. Is this a quality stone and what is it's value?

    Thank You!

Actually I collect Shumates, I have the standard barber's hone of theirs and the strop and hone combo both are like new condition and I think I paid maybe $5 at the most.. It really depends on the condition and if somebody is collecting... Now to me they are priceless, because they complement my collection, but they are not uncommon so the actual cash value is fairly low...

    Hope that helps...

Shumate is good! I think Ron?Utopian is the resident barber hone expert, Glen is the restore guru, not saying he doesnt know anything about barber hones.
