Default NASHIJI KITA SUITA TOISHI $1100 !!!

Ok JNat experts is there any way this stone is worth $1100!!!!! I've never seen one on ebay this high before. They say it's a pre WWII stone.
No I'm not even thinking about buying it just curious.

Very high quality stones of big size cost a lot of money. There are much more expensive stones than this one out there.
I personally trust only one J-nat seller that I would pay such money, for a stone.

Very true and I know the person your talking about and he is the only one I would purchase from especially taking about that type of money.
I have seen several on a Japanese website that were upwards of $3000. I just don't recognize the Kanji on this one????

I dont know why, but this always bothers me a bit. I guess it is just marketing.

Isnt every natural stone a pre-ww2 stone or "vintage"? Formed millions of years ago, before Hitler could grow a stache.

    Sorry to hijack.

I have no idea if it is worth that.

Although it might make sense, I personally would not assume that.

I've seen someone post a site where they were way more than that. Makes an Escher look like a bargain and they are as good as it gets AFAIC.

    Nah you didn't hijack anything:-)
I'm with you I'd take an Escher above about anything else especially at those prices.
I could probably rationalize buying one if I was wealthy and had many hundreds of razors or it was a full time business.

I dunno - never say never. A good Japanese natural is a thing of wonder. I have both an Escher and several Jnats, and I can tell you that the Jnats kick the Escher's butt, and smack the back of its head with a moist haddock for good measure.

It does not surprise me at all that a Japanese stone will go for that much - as others have said, you can spend 10's of thousands on a single stone if it is rare enough. Whatever you do, at those prices you better make sure the seller offers (and gives) full refunds

    James.
