Awesome. This will be fun. Shall we go directly off a 1k bevel? End off the finisher from the duel hone

i was thinking more along the lines of coming off a norton 8k ( as long as everyone that participates has a norton )to the dragons tongue on water and see how it shaves and then to the Lm to see if it improves the edge so what do you think ?

Ok thats fine with me. 1k 4/8 norton then on to the duel hone. Shave right off the stone.

How you have is set up it looks like good experiment as it is highly likely that all three combos you have will be from the same material. Reason why I say that is that DT only is notorious with grit variation and behaviour piece from piece.

More then likely both DT will be from the same piece, so it should be a good way to compare both with two different honers!!

im looking to keep this experiment on a level playing field( some honers maybe better then others) we should come up with a number count of how many laps should be done on the 8k ,DT,LM and which type of razor should be honed a softer steel or harder steel one?

Very true but if we consider that. Realize if the bevel is not fully set everything that person does after wont yeald the best results. Same grind is best. I think if we each do our own thing but document it you might see what will work best on the hone.
