The point about mineral spirits removing the sticky sandpaper is very helpful, too.

Charlie, i was using your method this morning, works really good so far, definately faster then using a diamond plate,
the stone i was working on had quite a dish in the middle and now it gone, thanks for posting very helpful!!
BTW the stone im working on is novaculite!
