Default The gentlemens quarter aftershave sample

I recieved a sample from Colleen and thought I would post my thoughts. I tried this by itself, following a straight witch hazel application, and after a witch hazel and AB / AS.

Colleen's when first applied just have a bit a burn I thought there might be a little alcohol in it but appearantly it does not. However shortly after after application the burn goes away and you get a nice cooling sensation.

The first couple of times the menthol seemed to be overwhelming (note I don't usually use a menthol aftershave) but after I got used to it this was not the case.

The aftershave is absorbed quickly and does not have a greasy/ oily feel to it.

This aftershave does a good job of moisturizing and my face does not dry out as the day progresses.

The aftershave does have a scent but it is nice and not overwhelming, if you use a AB/AS to scent this will not overwhelm it and you will have the scent of the AB/AS.

I found this to be a good product the only thing it does not excel at is if you have a tendancy to get redness after the shave. This did not seem to help much with that.

I hope this helps if you have any questions or I forgot anything please ask.

Hi, I haven't tried her AS's yet, but the guys on here rave about her shave soaps. I myself purchased the sample packs, that is, 6 soaps and two creams. The creams were good, but the soap left something to be desired IMHO. I've probably tried every soap out there, I'm a big fan of Mama Bear's soaps. I not sure if it's the fact that the soap I got from Colleen is sample size, but they just didn't impress me the way people speak about them. I expected to be blown away and I wasn't.
I found them to be very average. Nothing spectacular. Again, in fairness, maybe I need to buy a large puck and check it out.

I too found that I am getting more used to the menthol, but in my opinion it is a bit much. And in my wife's opinion, she would rather not be near the stuff when the bottle is open! The strength of the scent seems to wear off within about 15 to 20 minutes

It works great and I keep using it - there is just a bit left now

Odd - this is an aftershave review thread But as long as I am hijacking, let me say I am thoroughly impressed with the cavendish black sample from Colleen (IMHO and all that). It lathers as easily as a cream (my two cents' worth) but has that slick quality (your mileage may vary) that good soaps share. (your results may differ)

Thank you - I did leave that out accidentally. My lawyers say my inattention to detail will do me in someday ITHOs
