Default Art of Shaving Aftershave Balm

This is another great product from the Art of Shaving. It has a wonderful scent. It goes on smoothe and does not have a stiff bite. It moisturises very well without any oily residue. I really like this product accept for the price. 38.00 is steep for the 100ml bottle. A little does go a long way and it's a great product. I wish one of these aftershave balms had an spf of 15.

    Aftershaves Lotions/Balms reviews:

    Packaging
: Nice packaging and labeling / pump bottle for easy application

Price: Kinda stiff at 38.00 for a 100ml bottle

    Burn/Bite: No burn, no bite

    Moisturising: It moisturizes very well

    Scent:I love the sandlewood scent

Overall: Very nice product that I can recomend overall.. wish the price were a little less and I'd like to see an SPF 15 added

Packaging: I have always like AOS's design, and this one is no exception. Functional pump bottle that works well.

Price: In the same league as Castle Forbes, but slightly less effective. Mühle/Edwin Jagger would be worthy contenders, and I like their sleek design better, as well as the somewhat more elegant sandalwood scent.

Burn/Bite: As an ASB should be, no burn or bite, indeed. Very soothing.

Moisturising: It moisturises less well than both Castle Forbes and Mühle/Edwin Jagger. Which is a bit of a problem, because on my skin, AOS shaving cream really needs an ASB.

Scent: Like the shaving cream, this ASB has a very nice, elegant interpretation of sandalwood. I prefer that of Mühle/Edwin Jagger, but only by a small margin. Very nice.

Overall: http://www.straightrazorplace.com/fo...andalwood.html screams for this ASB. The combination is very good, but given its price, I would go for Castle Forbes (whose sandalwood scent may not be for everyone) or Mühle/Edwin Jagger (who perform better, in my opinion).

Packaging: Packaging on any item never really means much to me. I am much more interested in the contents and don't care much for spending extra money for a pretty bottle. This has a plain, simple bottle.

Price: The price was a little high for my taste. However, I have found that it is extremely long lasting and over time, it's price is just as comparable with more inferior products.

Burn/Bite: I have never cared for burn or bite in any after shave. This, fortunately, has no burn or bite whatsoever. Extremely soothing.

Moisturising: This being the most high line product I have tried I am very happy with it's moisturising properties. I find it completely satisfying.

Scent: I find this scent extremely pleasing. I do wish, however, that the scent lasted a bit longer. It seems to fade rather quickly.

Overall: Art of Shaving "Sandalwood" Overall a great product. The price is a bit high, but it lasts a really long time. On top of that it soothes the skin very well. Worth a shot for any shaver!

    Thumbs up

I will say that out of all the After Shave Balms I have tried to this point, I do like the AOS Sandalwood the best. The texture is perfect. Not to thick, but not to runny. It went on light with no greasiness and a slight, almost non-existent burn. Where the AOS really shines though is moisturizing and scent. The AOS Sandalwood fragrance is the best I have smelled and the moisturizing qualities of the balm is perfect for my skin. Yes, it is very expensive, but if you have the $$ and you want a top notch after shave with a quality ingredient list, I think it is worth it. I will definitely purchase again.
