Thumbs up CarrieM's "Lemongrass" Aftershave Balm

Right. Battle of the aftershave balms. As in the creams department, Caraceni sets the benchmark. But its scent lingers, and there are days on which I prefer not to smell like a rose sprinkled with pepper. Now that spring is finally here (at least for a few hours), it is high time for a fitting scent. Since Karen had already produced a fantastic lemongrass scented cream, a lemongrass scented ASB was the logical next step. Enter KD Creations's "Lemongrass" ASB.

Shipped about a week or so ago, it safely arrived at my home last night. Took my new Friodur, shaved, rinsed, and applied the balm. Repeated the process this morning. Here is the result.

Packaging: n/a, because the bottle is not the production issue.

Burn/Bite: None at all. Despite the witch hazel, the balm is soothing, and quickly eliminates small irritations, courtesy - among others - of the aloe vera, I presume.

    Moisturising
: Very nice. Not quite as good as Caraceni, but good nonetheless. Replenishes without leaving greasy traces. The skin feels soft, and smooth.

    Scent
: Lemongrass, and very little else. The scent is marginally less clean than the cream's, but still free of anything that would get in the way of the lemongrass. Did I mention the fact that I adore lemongrass?

    Price
: USD 10 for 4oz. Excellent value for money.

Overall: What can I say? "Bye-bye, Castle Forbes Lime", maybe. While CF has better packaging and slightly better performance, the price of Karen's products make them a more economic solution for me. While not exactly cheap (as in Nivea or Kappus), her products are very affordable, and very well worth their money.

    Thumbs up I agree!!

Although my sample was scented to my preferences(Dragon's Blood), I absolutely agree with your review. The lack of greasiness ,while still moisturizing, was what made an impression on me.

Packaging: n/a, This is a beta test

    Burn/Bite: No burn at all.

    Moisturising
: This is where this ASB shines. It is absorbed very quickly into the skin and leaves your face feeling very soft. I have not used the higher end balms like CF to compare though.

    Scent
: I had the "scentless". There is a bit of a witch hazel smell to it, but it does not stick around once applied to skin.

    Price
: N/A. I'm not sure what this is going to cost when it goes into production.

Overall: I think this is going to be my new ASB. It feels a bit like lotion when applying, but is quickly absorbed into the skin. No "greasy feel" to it. I think I may stick with the scentless option in the future so I can use my scent of choice after. I think I had version 1.0 and Robin had 1.1. I am sure it will improve more as CarrieM fine tunes it.
