Default Ebay dozen nib Wade & Butchers

An auction for a dozen new in box w&b's just end at $500 something. I'm curious if anyone here bought them, if so if they can give us some feedback when they get them, and if anone else saw them what we're they're thoughts.

If there were photos of all 12 I would have bid, but what do I need 12 more for? Seems like 500 was a steal. If photo of all 12 they probably would have gotten much more.

Yup, I saw them too. And I felt the same way. only 2 pictured, and as far as anybody knows those were the best of the bunch and the rest are completely rusted to swiss cheeze.
Still, not a bad price at under 50 bucks each, and certainly a collector would be overjoyed to find original packaging like that. I'm sure who ever got it is not unhappy.

Thanks JimmyHAD - very interesting find indeed - never saw the listing.

While I'm not a fan of the India Steel razors, that shape and etch just never attracted me personally, the Old English razor, look like concave or Rattler grind, look simply amazing - 6 of those in NOS condition is a stunning find - congrats on to the winner for sure.

The thing that I find most interesting isn't the razors, but the packaging. The paper the razors were wrapped in is far more rare than the razors themselves albeit far less valuable if not worthless. I have wondered for awhile now how those old razors were packaged. I actually thought the boxes had wax seals on them from the factory.

Yeah, I thought they'd get more action, and maybe end up over a grand, but there were photos of only 2 and they had rust over the etch, like magpie i was worried they were the best of the bunch. The packaging was really neat, and obviously I've never seen new boxes, they looked like leather. It was like seeing an actual photo of a dinosaur.

I am really curious how the rest of the razors looked.

Myself and zak tried to ask questions but the seller was being really evasive so neither of us even bid. I suspect the seller didn't even have them in hand during the auction.
