Hey guys, I dont know much, but this one is catching a bunch of bids. Any idea of who the maker was? I must defer to the professionals.

Those scales will always attract a lot of attention.

Here it is really stupid to show an ongoing auction.
Gives them to the guys with money.

Beautiful looking razor. Love the scales and blade. I'm certain I saw this one selling a couple weeks back tho. The scale/blade is unique so it stands out to me. Just something to think about. Maybe it's still the same auction?

Yeah, those penned scales are scarce these days. Too bad it is badly cracked on the show side.
Seems Neil Miller related that they had young girls doing that job.

That was once a nice razor. I don’t know that it will go for too much though. It looks like it’s been reground pretty thin with some deep pitting on the blade and some rust on the edge. The scales are nice and could clean up well with some TLC.

Also. I’ve got to agree with Richard. Many of us spend a lot of time scouring eBay for nice razors. If I had my eye on that one, I would be pretty annoyed if it was advertised on SRP.

Yes and thanks! I bought them back when Ebay was fairly new. Supposedly they came from a museum in Massachusetts.

The top blade is from George Hammond with a WR mark.
I speculate the other got broken and was replaced with a modified blade from what seems to be A. Overrall of Dublin. Pretty good match!

Done long, long ago. I have nicer ones with penning, including a few in ivory.
These? I have simply left them alone. They sleep in the box.
    Fun to look at!

Oddly enough, the razor linked-to by the OP is from George Hammond as well.
    For posterity...
