Default Free book, only 10 dollars!

    Ran into this on ebay:

Edwardian Manual shaving STRAIGHT RAZOR hone Strop CD | eBay

This entire book has been posted on here before, and I saved it to my HDD. The first link that comes up on Google for "shaving made easy" is this: Shaving made easy; what the man who shaves ought to know .. : 20th century correspondence school, New York. [from old catalog] : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive

You can download this entire book for free! Talk about some shady sales practices.

It's actually pretty common for people to take things that are public domain or licensed under creative commons and sell them.

I suppose they rely on people not knowing where to find the information.

Yes, I understand that happens, unfortunately. I suppose because straight shaving is something I am so infatuated with it stings a little more when people take advantage of the hobby. Oh well, it didn't look like they had been selling any, so there's that at least!

You pay for convenience. Like stopping at the gas/convenience store and paying way to much for milk cause it's a hassle to drive to the supermarket and walk in and wait in line and all that.

I took a rough count of how many clicks it would take me to purchase the cd, and download the file:

To purchase the cd takes between 10-15 clicks depending on how you have your passwords and paypal account set up.

To download the file takes 5 clicks from a blank screen, through google, to the website, and saving the pdf to the default folder.

Not only that, but you're buying a cd: pay, wait for mail, wait for mail, wait for mail, get cd, copy contents to HDD.

Search google, download file to HDD.

Okay, I am pretty sure the horse is dead now! Haha!
