Default Original Design or After Market?

I'm curious what you gentlemen think about this one. Was it designed that way as a fleeting stroke of genius that never caught on? Or was it a stroke of a newbie with a Dremel?

Looks like some damage has been ground out to me.

The heal must have been badly chipped and was ground down to have a less
    face scaring profile.

I have a Dubl Duck like this that I picked up for its scales... it has
the same busted heal problem. Since it is a Dubl Duck I will hone it on
the chance that I like it as is.

I have seen better blades in the Classified for the same or less money.

    I also think it's a modified blade.

Definitely a modified blade. I had to do the same thing with this Wade & Butcher 'For Barbers Only' because it had a small split about a quarter-inch from the heel. It doesn't look too bad and it still gives a great shave.

Yeah, if it had been ground that way from the factory it almost certainly wouldn't have a shoulder like that, at least not that far back towards the tang.

Walt, that is a great looking butchered Butcher!
I tend to agree with you fellas. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Damaged but worse is to list the item as new.
