Uh oh, looks like Lynn took my Wayback machine for a spin again. Gotta hide the keys for that thing.

Well I for one won't hear a bad word about French razors. And it is a "Pour Barbe Dure" i.e For Barber's Use, which is often an indicator of quality.

PS I am officially out of this auction, which is why I've posted it here

I might be a bidder if it were a lower starting price. I couldn't bid that high with only the one photo to judge by

Try asking for more. The worst the vendor can do is say "non". Just hint that you are a filthy rich yanqui with many of dollars, maybe even two many of dollars.

Actually, I'm pretty sure "Pour Barbe Dure" means "for tough beards."

    You can be absolutely sure.
    pour means for
    Barbe means beard, not barber.
    Dure means hard, tough

And honestly, nothing printed, stamped or etched on the blade can be considered an indicator of quality except for the tang stamp that indicates the manufacturer. All the rest: barber's use, for tough beards, etc is just marketing.

    alright I'm an idiot.

Had I scrolled down a bit I'd of seen the link to the other photos. A few of the pictures make me think there may be a small frown or wavy edge but I can't be sure. I really love the shape of the blade, though.
