You have to be going on about that big dollar DE razor. I really dont have a conecpt of what they should go for but that seems to be alot high. Oopsee when creating the auction maybe. Or is it uber rare or something?

    ok link just showed up.

    They are rare, apparently.

Still, the price is prohibitive. Just as a nice Puma can be, I supposed. Too each his (or her) own.

I have one. They are great DE razors. The price is on the high side, but I've seen models in similar condition go for higher. I got mine for less than half that before the more recent frenzy on these and Darwins.

Like alot of things, vintage DE's come and go out of fashion. A little while ago, good Fatboys were fetching some pretty big money. I've got a very nice Eclipse Red Ring in my collection and I think I paid about $40 for. It's a good razor but not worth anywhere near that sort of money.

I've had at least three Fatboy's over the years, bought for me as birthday / Xmas gifts, I threw them all away because I couldn't get on with them, mind you they were worth tuppence then, just another mass produced razor.

I think that is pretty standard for those. Darwin's are another crazy DE that goes for crazy amounts. Back when I shaved with DEs I picked up two Darwin's for under $40 each. Twas a good investment as I traded them later when the frenzy started and when I got into straights for a nice King Pelican and Puma.
