    Default Markless Dorko

Bought what I thought was a nice Dorko VINTAGE STRAIGHT RAZOR SOLINGEN GERMANY | eBay only to discover that there was no markings at all on the tang, top jimps but no thumb jimps and not overly smooth peening of the pins.

    Returning.

Wai - Why? The razor appears to be "as described" in the eBay listing. The description stated it had upper jimps, but never claimed "thumb jimps". No tang markings are are visible in the photos which are part of the description. And pins that are not "overly smooth" is pretty shaky grounds for returning a razor. But, if the vendor accepts your reasons and accepts the return, more power to you. If I was selling that razor you would have to come up with a stronger argument.

    Regards - Walt

You have no legit reason whatsoever to return it.

The ad does say it's a Solingen razor.

The only Solingen is on the scales, not on the razor. The peening is mentioned as it could have been rehandled with a dorko scales and may not be original.

Also it has a picture of one side of the tang. I assumed the other side of the tang would have the markings.

To tell you the truth, production pinning isnt usually all that smooth when compared to what you see on restored work. Wether this has been hybridized/bastardized or whatever, I have no idea. But..... The scales are quality as is the blade(excepting rust) and should be no problem after a good cleaning and honing.

may be you should have asked for extra pics instead of assuming?
Solingen is on the scales so technically it is on the razor , I do not see how that can be any reason for claiming the product does not match the description.
Truth is there is a reason why newbies are strongly discouraged to buy from e-bay, it is called "very little experience with razors".
I am sure there is nothing wrong with the razor, those gold washes are usually a sign of a higher end razor even if it is unstamped.

When shopping on Ebay, at least ask about every detail you can before you buy something...
You're going to be burned if you don't and this seller may not want to give you your money back. Why don't you at least use the razor a few times and see how it is? It may be worth the money you paid anyway if it's quality.

I have quite a number of N.O.S vintage Dorkos, have never seen a blade like that before.
Would question weather it even is a dorko.could be wrong tho.

I just want to know how you got the razor so fast!! Delivery time was estimated at 16-25 business days, yet you have it in hand in less than 48 hours! That has to be a record.
