I've got a very similar razor except mine in a French point. It's an excellent shaver so I've no doubt the round point would be the same.

It would be nice to have a better photo of the blade, but the BIN price is even a steal.

Hopefully that is some sort of oil on the blade that you can see. Auction number 1 for this seller.

That would be one heck of a gamble if it pays off, but I wouldn't spend that much given the poor photo and risk of a problem with the blade.

None of my Robert Williams razors came in that type of box. This may be a Williams that John Crowley sold as I think that some of the razors he sells come in that type of box. I am thinking Tim Zowada uses that box as well. But I certainly could be wrong.
In any event it is sold.

Robert did use that type of box for a time. Before that he used a suede covered black box of similar appearance. Chances are the buyer got a really great deal. Hope so and I hope it was one of us.

Thanks for posting the heads up on this razor John! I was very lucky on two counts here. The box was packed in one of the padded mail envelopes the post office sells. The corner of the package was torn open and I gulped when I saw it as all I had to do was reach in and pull out the razor's box and low and behold a beautiful
Robert Williams piece of work.Even the mailman waited to see if all was well. The razor is beautiful. I do not know what kind of oil was on the blade but it took some work to remove it. The blade has one tiny scratch near the point, has a very nice edge looking through the loupe. I will do a serious touch up honing on her tomorrow morning and post a couple of pictures for all to see. It was a pleasure to leave positive feedback for the seller as the seller was a brand new ebayer. I am going to enjoy a cigar and count my lucky stars. Pictures tomorrow!

I had the time to get to know this razor a little better today. Honed, touch up, naniwa 8&12K and then a Jnat finish stone. Stropped on natural linen, SRD horsehide, and cordovan horsehide.
The horn has a beautiful range of colors. The blade came out well from the cleaning and the only real issue I would like to correct is the
warp in the scales at the spacer. Robert Williams used his allen wrench removeable fasteners so
all should come apart easily. I read the wicki's here and some other posts on straightening warped horn. Basically boil for 20 miniutes or so, cover each scale with a paper towell and clamp between a couple pieces of flat wood stock and give it 48 hours to sit. I have not done this before and, of course, don't know what things will look like when done. Don't know if the brilliant finish that is now on the scales will remain, etc.
I was glad to be able to grab this beauty and after the repair and a few shaves I look forward to posting her in the classifieds for what I paid so one of our members can have a nice R. Williams razor. Thanks again John! And any guidance from our members on my plan to straighten the horn would be greatly appreciated.

This is how I dud it's. There are other ways too... hope this helps..
