For me, the trouble spot is just underneath the jaw line. I can shave north to south or I can shave south to north, but to get really close, I need to shave from ear to chin. A standard SR blade is too long for me to do that. I guess I could get a "shorty" blade, but I have elected to use a DE safety razor for a clean up pass for those trouble spots. Although it is not quite traditional for a SR shaver, it works for me.

I don't normally shave in that direction in that area myself so I had to have an evening shave today to test my thoughts.

I used a round toe and started low. Only shaving 1/2 inch or less a stroke using the toe. When I approached my jawline I switched to the heel and also narrow strokes to go up and around.

    Worked for me....

Looks like the point got ya. do you have a round point and if so does it get ya too. if so the angle is changing. I had that problem until i learned to watch the angle of the blade with the pointed razors. Also as others have stated stretching the skin makes a great deference.

I manage to go up and center now days. My issue is going down to center. A shorty helps but I hate having to use more than one razor. Across the jaw line going up towards the nose I go slow and easy and use the center of the blade. Keeping the point away from the jaw. The blade rolls right over the edge.
Looks like the crease in the skin might have something to do with it too. Got to pull that tighter just when you run over it or to make damn sure the blade is not in-line with it.
