Thread: my first pass

well I used my new razor for the first time today for one pass from the side burns down. so I took my shower and washed my face with some soap I had made almond and honey scent while letting my brush soak in hot water then wipped up me some lather and lathered up and then stropped the razor then relathered and proced to make my pass my razor a oxford 7/8 spike point cut threw the hair like a hot knife thur butter without taking any skin then finished up with gem single edge blade i bought at a antque store

Good job. Taking it slow and easy at first is the best way. That is what I did too and within a couple of weeks I was shaving the whole face with the straight and have been ever since.

+1 with Jimmy. This is not a race. Rather it's about accumulating a new shaving skillset. One for which there is no substitute for learning. Otherwise you face will remind you not to short change that learning curve...

All the above is great advice. If you will notice a number of the members replying to you have very little time with straights. That should show you that the learning curve is quick.
