Thread: Hello

I have been interested in trying straight razor shaving for a while, and this Christmas finally received a razor and kit from my girlfriend. Sure, it is a replaceable blade, but this way I can try it out without worrying too much about the cost and maintenance of a nice razor before figuring out anything. Well, I tried my first shave tonight. It may not be the smoothest my face has been, and sure, it looks like I tried to tongue kiss a weasel, but it was fun. After my transfusion, and a day or so to heal, I'll have to give it another shot!

I started out with a straight with disposable blades, it is still in my rotation.

keep an eye on the angle of your blade and the pressure that you apply, care on those two areas will make your shave a lot smoother. Good luck!
