    Default Brush Hair Loss

Just got a quick question for everyone, I’ve just started straight razor shaving a couple of weeks ago and everything so going great so far. I’ve been noticing my brush seems to be losing a lot of hair. It’s a Simpson B4 Pure Badger brush, now I know that some hair loss is normal but mine just seems to be losing a lot even after using for a couple of weeks. Just would like to know everyone else’s experience on the issue, thanks for the help.

Maybe I should try some Rogaine???

Normal hair loss is a few hairs during the first few uses and then nothing after that though some do shed longer. The important point is the number of hairs being shed should be like 1 or 2 per session and after a week or two of use they shouldn't shed at all except for maybe a hair now and then over time. Excessive shedding is a defect and should be addressed by your retailer.

I've only just started straight razor shaving but have used 3 brushes in the past with my regular shaver. They were all just cheapies from supermarkets and they all lost hair like crazy. I don't live near any shaving stores but next time I'm in "the big city" I will surely invest in a proper brush (among other shaving needs).
