I see on replies that different people have different rankings, from beginner to senior, what constitutes that status?

It is determined by number of post....a mod can probably answer this better but I believe you are a Jr. Member till 30 post then a member till 100 post and then a Sr. Member. I believe you can also change what it says in your profile settings.

I believe you can go into your profile and change your title to whatever suits you within reason. Select Settings (upper right), then Edit Profile (on left side under "My Settings"), and enter a custom user title.

You can change your title to something else, but if you don't then it automatically is set based on number of posts.
