    Default scratching

any ideas why the scratches are appearing on my strop. Burr (unlikely) technique (Very Likely) .New Dovo shave ready with about a dozen shaves. This also happens on the other strops I have.

You are probably putting too much pressure on the toe when you strop; pressing the spine into the leather at the toe end and creating these marks.
Slow down and work on your technique, paying attention to how the entire blade makes contact with the strop.

That makes sense. Concentrate on equal pressure along the spine.

I had the same problem. I found out they're pretty superficial and buffs out with strop dressing.

If the scratches happen only in one direction I would think burred edge. If both directions could be technique or maybe even burrs on both sides of spine .
