    Default honing

    Hi,

I'm still waiting for my straight (ebay enzo england classic) to arrive, however I question the edge it will have when it arrives..

Thus, I am on the lookout for someone that could hone it properly for me near belgium. (west flanders)

I'd do it myself but lack a finishing stone (I only own stones up to 5000 as I never needed anything sharper).. and probably the skill to properly do a real razor :P

    Any takers?

    Thanks!

You are wise to send it out as you don't know what a shave ready razor is all about. Please, save yourself the frustration and learn to shave first. Once you have that down to where you get comfortable shaves all the time, then by all means learn to hone. You can check the classified's for honing services, maybe there is someone in your area. If not, a gentleman by the name of Neil Miller has a shop on your side of the pond you might look up: www.strop-shop.co.uk - hand made straight razor strops, razor pouches, shaving accessories, vintage razors, razor honing and restoration.

I'll get someone to hone it when I can afford it, until then it's good for stropping practise :P

Absolutely. No need to send your razor out of the country.
In your corner of the country there's Stijn (who's also a member here).
Myself I live in the province Antwerpen, as does Bart (from coticule.be).

edit: Stijn goes under the name "geruchtemoaker" here

I don't know where you just live in our province but if you want we can meet up and I can show you some things if you are just starting out
