Default Vestavia Brush from The Shaving Shop

When I first opened the box, all I could say was WOW.
The fit and finish of both the brush and stand are flawless.
I was surprised how heavy it is. The end cap is weighted. I do not have a scale handy, but it is my heaviest brush. The extra weight puts the balance at your
    fingertips. Very Nice.

Then I gave it a big sniff, No Smell.

The stand also has a weighted base and will not tip over when you put on or take off the brush.

I can only compare the Vestavia to the Semogue 2015 and the Crabtree & Evelyn Best Badger.

The Vestavia is slightly softer than the Semogue (less backbone) but not floppy at all. A very luxurious feeling.

The brush stands up to soaps and creams very well.

I tested the Vestavia with 3 soaps and 2 creams…
Mama Bear’s Awakenings, Rosemary Mint, and Tabac soaps
    C. O. Bigelow (Proraso) and Maca Root (The Body Shop)

This brush holds an amazing amount of water and explodes with lather, easily 4+ passes! I lather on the face and never had to re-wet the brush for later passes.
With the Tabac I was in a hurry and soaked the brush for a minute or so then loaded the brush on dry soap. I had great lather for 3+ passes.
For the creams, I put a snurdle in a lather bowl and worked it into the brush then lathered on my face. Loads of lather
I have a new favorite brush!

One concern… the brush lost 6 hairs the first use and 2 the second. It seems to have stopped. In fairness, I used it out of the box with out washing or rinsing first. If I continue to loose hairs, I will update.

A Big THANK YOU to John at the http://www.shavingshop.com

I received my brush last Friday in the black finish like your's and I got one for JrJoeD also, in white. Jr and I are both impressed with the brush and had similar results. I did give it a shampoo out of the box and have only used creams with it with excellent results. I have a shavemac silver tip, a vulfix pure badger and a C&E super badger. This brush feels the softest of them all.

During the shampoo my black brush lost a few hairs as it did during the first shave. Jr's white brush did not loose any hairs. I should have some time to pay with it more over the weekend and will update this thread if I find that more than a few more jump ship.

Other than the few hairs left in the bowl and on my face I am very impressed with this brush and the white one is perfect! I'm sure it's not the color that makes the hairs fall out, or is it?

Well I'm white and nearly bald so I don't think color has anything to do with it.

I have pretty much had the same results with this brush and I have lost a couple of hairs out of my brush at every use so far (4 times ) but am not yet worried as I suspect it will stop shortly. All of my other brushes shed a little in the first few days also but stopped shedding shortly
