I shave with a spoon on a stick.
Thäter 21mm "Fine" Silvertip
I have wanted a Thäter brush for a while now. Luckily the fine folks at SRD brought them to the states from Germany.
Craftsmanship: I only have a few brushes, but from what I can tell this is made well. I have used it every day for a week with soap(MWF) and creams. I have not seen a hair shed yet, which is very surprising.
The handle feels really good in your hand too. I don't know what is so special about it, but I like it.
Lather Making Ability: I face lather and have been able to easily generate lather with soap or cream.
Tip Softness: I think this Best Badger, someone correct me if I am wrong here. Best is the softest I have used so far. Definately softer than the few Pure Badger I have used though. I am guessing once this brush is broken in it will be really nice.
Bristle Stiffness: Works well for face lathering
Knot Density: Great. No floppyness when face lathering or soap on my ears. Eats a puck of MWF for lunch
Price: $42.99. This is comparable with the Edwin Jagger Medium Best Badger brush. The EJ is the same brush that you see rebranded at Crabtree & Evelyn. I feel you are getting a better brush here, for the same amount of money.
Overall impression: Price + Performance its hard to beat. I like this brush so much I ordered its 24mm "Finest Silvertip" big brother.
