Default How many hairs in a knot anyway ????

I have a couple of " How To " vids I made and it was fun. I thought I would do a "how to" on making a badger brush from scratch. I mean scratch. I am not known as a brush maker but I always wanted to make a few. I have replaced a few and that is relatively simple. I have long admired the brushes that some of our members spin out so this is sort of a tribute to them :<0)

My plan is to start at the beginning and not harm any animals in the process so, here goes.

First you have to get a badger. Some may just spring for a quality knot but remember ,,,from scratch.

I found just the guy to hep me out and here is his technique.

Now once my badger arrived ,and the Fed Ex guy quit swearing at me as the blood drips down his arm, I realize I have to get the dang thing out of the cage and start harvesting hair. A bottle of Sleep-Eze mixed up in some cat food did the trick.

Notice I have my tools all laid out ready to go. The little plastic can should be enough for a good size knot I am thinking.

They say the best hairs come from a female and I can see I got lucky with this purchase.

I'd say shave away my friend. I would recommend the pet series electric clippers as well.

Well I was going to take it down to the city park and let it go when I get enough for a knot. If it looks all mangy they might shoot it thinking it has a disease or something. Maybe I could just pluck the good ones out. They do stand out longer.

Lol. Yup the city park is where they have the good life. Pigeons to feast on and garbage cans to root through. That would be the good life for sure.
