Default "Jack Black" Pure Performance Shave Brush

Have any of you used or heard of this brush?

I am not a huge fan of Badger brushes. I do like the fact that they will hold a lot of lather and water, otherwise, I prefer the scubbiness of what,.....? Synthetics, Boar hair, Boar and Badger Mix, etc., etc.

I search for different manufactures, looking for that great combination of the Boar and Badger. I check in at B&B and read their reviews on brushes every so often. Well, after reading this review on the Jack Black "Pure Performance Shave Brush", I just had to check this baby out. Here is the review:

Jack Black 'Pure Performance' Shave Brush - Badger & Blade

It's a bit pricey for a none badger brush, but hey, we've spent a lot more in our many acquisition disorders. Right? Here is Jack Black's ad for this new brush (I guess it's new):

Men’s skin care, men’s grooming, shaving cream, gift sets-Jack Black

Yes, I ordered one. I'll review it when I get it in. I will be spending the Holidays in Canada, so it may not get done until after the 1st of the year.

    Ciao,

    Steve

I've heard good things about this brush, being a synthetic and all.

I'm looking forward to your review.

I saw the perfect rating 10/10 in every category then read this "Iím a very harsh critic when it comes to shaving gear"

Keep us updated! I have never tried a synthetic brush

I don't know that I would trust a department store brand to make a good brush, but that's just me and my issues...

I like a little scrubiness or at least a lot of backbone to the bristle. Rooney Finest is really the perfect solution for me, but the price...

Otherwise, I've decided "best" badger - the step below silvertip - is where its at. I'll never buy another silvertip. I'm thinking of trying the Shavemac finest or fine or whatever they call it. Or, a Simpson in Best.

    Jordan,

Interesting your comments about the Rooney. because Their "Best Badger" is my favorite badger brush in my herd. I do have two Shavemacs and they are good, but that Rooney finest at least has some backbone to it. It is my brush of choice at this time.

Yea, I was really taken back by the Review of "Onemanshow" at B&B. That blew me away. and, because I suffer with OCD, I just had to try this brush. I have a tendency to like the Boar brushes. I had a great one I picked up from Ebay. It was a Boar made in Germany. A great brush, a perfect combination of Badger and Boar, but I ended up giving it to my Daughter-in-Law when I converted her over to str8's and wet shaving. (I give all my good stuff away). Yes, I am really looking forward to trying this new brush.
