Default My hand made brush... no turning here!

Hey guys, I have been working on this brush for a while in the spare time I have and thought I'd put up some pics... not sure if this needs to be in the workshop, but oh well.

This knot is a silvertip 26mm I got from the golden nib

The handle I made by hand carving from a block I made by gluing a piece of claro walnut between two pieces of very nice quilted maple (the pictures do no justice to the figure in this wood). I sanded it all and coated it with tung oil...

I was going for a unique design that was ergonomical as well as good looking. I don't have a lathe, and frankly I wanted to try something with a different design. I am happy about how this one feels, the inside curve fits perfectly into my hand.

Please share your comments... I want to know what people think

Very nice, That looks like it would be nice to hold and use. I really like the shape it is very organic.

It remnds me of something that Wendell Castle (art furniture) would make.

    That looks fantastic.
I have one badger brush, and have not the least intention of buying another. It's already bad enough that I have more razors and hones than I need.
If I could be brought to break my moratorium on brushes, it would be by a handle such as yours.
    It's beautiful!

Nice job Del. It shows what one can do on his own bench.

That really is nice. Inspirational infact. I think you've just made up my mind to make myself a brush!

I used some polyeurethane wood glue (I like the stuff), but you could use regular wood glue if you wanted.

The knots are good... I think you'll like them. Many SRP guys get their knots there and the general feel seems to be that the knots are great bang for the buck.
