Which grade of badger knot you preffer most?
Today question reffer to TGN badger knots but generally opinions are welcome also.
I can not post pool so I will make options here in a thread: Super Silvertip (the softest), Silvertip Grade A, Standard Silvertip (not soft as other two, little bit scratchy) or maybe Best or Pure?

Still Stone Crazy After All :-(
I don't know about TGN badger knots but if it is scritchy it is my preference regardless of the grade of hair or what they call it.

In the Chat room!
My preference is quite the opposite of JimmyHAD's
I prefer softer tips. The softer the better. That said, I like a bit of backbone on my brushes, but the tips must be soft.
I suppose you'll find that we all have different preferences on brushes, as well as most anything in this sport.
I also find my preferences change depending on what products I use them for.
Soaps require a bit more umph to it to excel, creams not so much.

The Assyrian
Hello, King:
I prefer the coarser brushes with soaps and the softer ones with creams.
What do you like?
Either way, the brushes should have backbone. Nothing like a brush that turns into a limp noodle.

Obie

I like the old two banders. Soft tips yet with backbone and a bit of scratch to them. Floppy brushes simply aren't allowed in my house.

May your bone always be well buried
I have a Comoy Pure badger that I prefer over and above a Cyril R Salter Pure badger. The Comoy has backbone but the the Salter is a mop. I think I would actually prefer a properly broken in Boar brush.

Know thyself
I like the Thater Finest Silvertip because they have soft tips but good backbone.

I use alot of TGN grade A,s,best bang for the buc going IMO.
With any top line silvertip, the so called backbone is determined by the loft, not the hair.

The only two badgers I own now are a finest and super silvertip. I love them both. The other two brushes I own are boars and I like them for a little extra stiffness.
