Thread: My Great Grandfather's Brush

I went to Colombia this past November and obtained my Great Grandfather's shaving brush. i thought it was great because i don't have many pictures with him (he lived in Colombia and passed when i was 13) i was wondering if anybody knew what brand it was and maybe what year it was from. my Grand aunt had no clue. thanks!

This brush looks like it hasn't been used. From what I can tell from the pictures, the knot is made up of either boar bristles or synthetic bristles; I would bet on boar bristles. The pictures are blurry, but I think the brush's brand is Fuller, which I believe was a brand based in the United States. Thanks for sharing, and let us know how the brush treats you.

yes it says fuller on the top of it, and from what my grand aunt told me is that he used it.. i wish i could find out if he had any others.. the bristles look to be in great shape but the handle looks used (there seems to be dried out shaving cream where it says fuller) any idea to what the year is?

PS i dont think i want to use it. i want to keep it in the shape its in

The Fuller Brush company has been around since 1906. They are still around making brushes, though I don't think they make shave brushes anymore.

Yes they were famous because they used traveling salesmen to sell their wares and back in the day there were many famous comedy routines concerning "the fuller brush salesman". Their mdse was good quality.

Based on the sheen in the pictures that looks like an old Nylon brush but handling it would tell for sure.
