    Default Brushes In Cabinets.

Today I bought a small cabinet to place in the Shave Den (small cramped bathroom). I put my few brushes in it.
My question is: Is there anything that I can place in the cabinet that will detour unwanted guests ( bugs and such)? I don't have a bug problem, thank God, but a little preventive maintenance my be needed, I feel. I placed "1" small moth ball packet in the cabinet. Is this O.K.? Will the fumes hurt my brushes?

Any advice on how you keep your cabinets, creature free, is welcome.

    Thanks,
    John

Unless you happen to see any unwanted insects eyeing your beauties, I wouldn't do anything but place them in the cabinet. There should be no need for anything if you do not see any bugs. I think moth balls would give the brushes that "grandmas closet" odor, which for me would not be pleasant. Just my 2 cents.

Would not use any type of chemical defense,go out in the yard and find a praying mantis, place her in the cabinet, she will keep it bug free

I was hoping you would chime in soon, bigspender. I have yet to see a roach in the bathroom and every roach hotel I've seen, would be hard to hide in the small cabinet and they look like crap. I was more worried about flying pests that might sneak in and lay eggs in the hair. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

Isn't cedar a natural bug deterrent?

You may find that the eggs will give your lather better body, kind of like a meringue.

Yes, I have a small piece in there. I threw this thread out here to learn how you guys take care of your brushes. I can handle the steel & rust issues of razors, but badger hair is new to me.

My bad! I guess it would be difficult to separate out those little egg whites. I was just trying to be helpful, honest!
