Default The Art of Shaving... Customer Service

So I bought a badger brush from the Art of Shaving when I first got into straights - about two years ago. I have other brushes, but I like this one a lot. Well... I was cleaning it the other day after a shave and applied what I thought was a gentle twist to the brush to wring the water and soap from it. Well... Turns out it was probably more forceful than I had thought. The whole knot separated from the handle (glued on) and I was left with two pieces. Bummer.

I went to the AoS we sited and briefly explained the situation on the customer feedback form. I heard from someone at P&G and they explained that their products had a one-year warranty, but they were sorry I had problems and were sending me a check for $55.

Wow! Didn't see that coming. Pretty rare that you see that type of customer service these days so I though I would share.

you might want to slightly change the title, because when I opened it I thought it would be a negative review...

I've had good service as well. Bought my first brush from them, huge knot and super floppy...nothing wrong with it, just not what I prefer after a few years of trial and error. Only used it half a dozen times. Anyway, mentioned this to an employee at AoS and he gave me a surprised look and said, "Bring it back in and we'll get you a smaller one or your money back! Hate that you have one of our products and will never use it."

Boy was I was surprised. Anyway, went home and used the brush that night...but found that although it's not my favourite I will enjoy using it from time to time.

Long and short... although expensive, they seem to be good folks for the most part. I will purchase from them again.

It's very often the case when you go to certain retailers they have a rep for treating their customers right meaning the customer is always right. often times you pay more at these places but many think it's worth the better customer service.

For me Customer Service is worth a bit extra and I will go to places that care about CS.

Yes, great customer service goes a long way with me also.

If I purchased a product and was not happy with it for any reason and I contacted the seller but they did not acknowledge me or do anything for me that would be the last time I ever buy anything from that store/website again.

But if they were to give me a refund (part or full) or replace the product (even at their financial loss) I would happily buy again and therefore they would recuperate their money back in the end.

I have a list in my head of retailers that I will never buy from again, but if their customer service was better I would have done many times over, it’s their loss.

As the old saying goes 'If you get good service you tell ten people - if you get bad service you tell everybody'
Lots of places don't realise that.

That's above and beyond service. You know, there is an AoS store not too far from me. I think I'll stop by this week for a shave and maybe try one of their soaps.

+1 on the great customer service. I had the scales on a AoS Dovo crack on me this week and I returned them with no questions asked! I will continue to buy from them and use their products!
