Default "The Art of Shaving" Brush

I have been using a cheap tweezerman brush to start. I cant get the best lather with it,but for the cost I did not expect much.

I recived as a gift a pure badger The Art Of Shaving brush. I think it cost $55. Anyone have any experience with it?

I checked some other threads about a nice brush in that price range, however I know thats a very tough question.

Dovo makes awesome razors, so who makes awesome brushes.

Yes I am new to this.

    Thanks

I believe AOS brushes are made by Shavemac. Shavemac is very well respected.

Maybe this is a silly question, but why not just use the one you received to see what you think of it?

I suggest trying it. I have a VDH Deluxe boar ($ 9) and three good badgers ( up to $ 140). They all make good lather and I use them all each week.

At the AOS store by me, I have asked two different clerks on two separate occasions who makes their brushes, and they both answered, "Victoria."

I'm basing this on the shape of the handle. At my local AOS store, when asked, they had no idea.

A search for "Victoria shaving brushes" yielded this:

"VICTORIA is a 100 percent subsidiary of GEKA. The company, which is headquartered in Bechhofen-Königshofen, Germany, imports and trades in cosmetic brushes, powder puffs, sponges, related accessories, and advertising products for national and international cosmetics companies and perfumery chains. Its specialty is the manufacture of shaving brushes that meet the high standards of leading brands and perfumeries throughout the world."
