Cool By Glen, for Glen :)

So awhile back, like July Bayamonte/Nelson sent me a Brush Knot to try out, things got a bit hectic between then and now and I switched gears twice

I finally decided exactly what I wanted to do with this one, I hope I get this right, the knot IIRC is a 22mm Finnish Black Badger, loft is set at 52mm, OAL is 120mm or about 5 inches..
I turned the Lignum Vitae handle myself into one of my favorite styles, actually for myself I like the KISS principle, although the Lignum is one of the densest woods out there I was rather surprised with how long the bubbles kept rising when I put it in the Vacuum Chamber, I let it go for 48 hours, and dried the handle for two weeks.. The finish is Daly's Seafin Marine wood sealer..

The pic tonight is brand new right after I epoxied in the knot, I will put up another pic once the knot has been used, to show the bloom

Many thanks again for the knot Nelson

Making a brush sound like more work than a razor, in some regards.
    Nice job, Glen.

Looks good to me. From the little experience I have with brushes I would think that is a decent size knot, not too big and not too small. The slightly longer handle with nice clean lines would seem to be made for bowl lathering. Yea, definitely something I would likely purchase. A lot of work but worth the effort for sure.

Heh, the title of the post makes me think you should start a line of fashion brushes "Glen by Glen - pour homme"

Nice looking brush Glen. I picked up a black badger knot awhile back and made my own. Its a little bit "scritchier" but I quite like it. Yours is nicely done and I quite like the longer handle design.

    Thumbs up

Here is the same brush after some work with Mane and Tail Shampoo & Conditioner and another shave, made the knot bloom nicely and improved the feel on the face...

The brush works awesome with soaps and face lathering so far I love it
