Default How does this section work?

I know the spcifications to the razor that I need and I have a price quote on it from Vintage Blades and Classic Shaving, so I know what I need to pay for it. I would like to see if I can get a better price here at SRP. How do I go about posting this request for prices?

Many buyers will post a thread here titled, "WTB (want to buy) X Razor" and they will list whatever specs they want and the price range they are looking at.

If you decide to sell, auctioning isn't encouraged. Simply post your specs and a photo if you can, and list the price. Prospective buyers are encouraged to contact you regarding your razor through the private messaging function

Assuming you are talking about buying a new razor, why not just contact the Vendor/advertisers here and ask them? If you want a pre owned or vintage razor post a WTB on the BST Forum. Something like "WTB: 6/8 Dbl Duck Wonderedge. Please PM with price and condition".

Straight Razor Designs, Vintage Blades and Classic all carry new and vintage stuff.

Whoever you get it from, be sure to have it honed so you can remove the variable of "is my razor sharp enough" from the process.

    Good luck.

Is it not recommened that I specify sharpened before sending? My price quotes from Vintage Blades and Classic Shaving include the cost of sharpening. My current price quotes include SRP advertisers is it not recommened that I go beyond the SRP advertisers?

Unless you know how to sharpen a razor it is recommended that you request sharpening! As far as vendors outside the SRP family, it's like playing Russian roulette unless you are very familiar with straights and the needed accoutrements!

Yes, it is strongly recommended that you request that your razor be sharpened (honed) before shipment to you.

As far as shopping with SRP advertisers goes...my original comment reflects my thought that you might as well support those that support our group here at SRP. In addition, as was pointed out, these guys are well known to most of our members and will go out of their way to make sure you are well taken care of. I guess if you wanted to make a project out of it you could save a dollar or two, but for me it's not worth it. Of course, I don't know the specifics of what you are trying to buy, so please take my comments for what they are, which is just my opinion.
