    Default WTB: Samples

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to sell a good sample set of creams and soaps. They dont have to be official or anything, like even just in a ziplock is ok. I would love to try the Geo Trumper and other higher end brands as well as others. I have really only used canned creams.
    You name the price

Try The Shave Den. Lots of sample packs available, not much money, great service. Their home-made products good too! Endless possibilities...

There's a gentleman who sells generous samples at a reasonable price on B&B. (Badger & Blade)

Shaving Samples for Sale - Badger & Blade

There is the link, I hope it's OK for me to post that. I ordered about 10 different samples from him and was well pleased. It is certainly much cheaper to by a 2 or 3 dollar sample than to buy a tub and not like it. He sends his samples in a plastic, screw top cup similar to that of a Trumper sample, yet at least twice as big. To be more specific, the outer diameter is 1 1/2 inches w/ a height of 3/4 in. Or, .35 ounces. Enough for several shaves.

You will want to check the last several posts of the thread for any updated info on what he has available.

    Good luck.

I just noticed a few of your posts. I just finished my second graduate degree last year and remember well what it was like to be a poor student. Just wait until you're a poor working man!! I have a few creams that I could make samples from. I also have a couple of samples in which I didn't care for the scent.

    I have T&H Trafalgar and 1805 creams.
    I can send TOBS Avocado,
Caswell - Massey Almond - I couldn't get this stuff to lather right. I might not have given it a chance though.
    Salters - Lavender
    and probably more.

Send me a pm with your address.

You can ask nicely Truefitt&Hill and Floris and they'll send you samples of their shaving stuff. Also Trumpers will send you a big sample pack for the modest fee of $5 to cover shipping from UK.

    Alex,

Well, I've put together a gift pack of samples for you. I think I've created enough room to buy some things to put back without SWMBO noticing!!!

    Here's the fun:

    Proraso Pre-Shave
    T&H Pre-Oil
    TOBS - Lavender Cream
    TOBS - Avocado Cream
    T&H - Trafalgar Cream
    T&H - 1805 Cream
    Salters - Mint Cream
    AOS - Lavender Cream
    Trumper - Lime Cream
Caswell & Massey - Almond Cream
Caswell & Massey - Shave Soap (used once)
The Real Shaving Company - Cream and Shave Balm (this can be found at Rite Aid)

I think I recall you saying that you had only used various canned creams. Hopefully you have, or can find, a shave brush to use with these creams. I tried one of the really cheap brushes from the drug store one time and the results were poor compared to a better brush. It worked well enough for a shave though.

I wish you the best in school and beyond. Grad school is a big plus these days considering the mass of those who have an undergrad degree.

    Good Luck,

    Carroll Ware

I figure a small, spontaneous return toward the abundance of help that has been offered to me is the least I can do. Plus, as a newbe, I like to act like a veteran every once in a while!

You're very welcome and I hope you enjoy trying the different creams. They went out in the mail today.

Package recieved today. I went for a shave after my work out this after noon. I started with the Caswell & Massey - Almond Cream, I had a really hard time getting a good lather out of it, but I think this is more my synthetic brush then anything, the lather was thin, runny and only good for one pass (sadly the straight are out of commision so I used my DE, which sucks compared to my straight) I then used the Shaving Company cream for the second pass, and that whipped up in to a lather very quickly. Thank you again.
