Smile WTB: shave ready straight (for a newbie) and/or a strop

    Hi,

I've been shaving with a DE razor and shaving brush/quality cream since october last year and I truly like it in comparisson to my disposable gillettes I used. Now I want to try straight razor shaving.

I'm looking for a honed/shave ready straight (5/8 if possible, but a 6/8 or 4/8 is very welcome too).
Further on I need strop, so if you've got a spare one in rather good condition, let me know.

    thanks
    Ben

(PS: I'm neither rich nor poor )

Yes, Tony's Apprentice strop is excellent. I use mine for travelling, but a lot of people use them for their main or only strop, especially when first starting out. A nice (i.e. more expensive) model down the road may give you a slightly nicer surface, a linen side, and fancy mounting hardware and handles, but really all you need is a flat strip of high-quality, properly-treated leather, and that's exactly what the Apprentice is.

kenrup offers inexpensive starter kits, which people seem to like quite a bit.
the biggest problem I see is that international shipping can be expensive, although 1st class isn't bad at all.
you have the eur/usd on your side, though.
anyways you've got a pm with one possibility.

Can daianna777 not be banned? He only post such things.

Yes, the only problems with kenrup kits are the high shipping costs AND we will pay custom taxes; Priority+over 50USD are really often taxed. I guess it double the price.

From EU to EU, no! That's the point of EU!
