Thread: WTB: 1 or 2 razors to practice honing on

Want to buy 1 or 2 carbon-steel razors, round point, full hollow ground, with wear (i.e., NOT SHAVE READY). No nicks or chips in the edge, tho.

My reason: practicing to get a shave ready edge on my 4000/8000 Norton waterstone. I currently own a really nice Dovo Special 6/8 which has been my first straight shaver, and a wonderful one at that - but I am scared to put to have to eventually put it to the stone for fear of ruining the edge!!!

Thus I want 2 razors that are good but have just lost their edge. I will practice honing on the 4k/8k combo and finish up with linen and then strop. That's my plan right now, anyway.

I can sell you a new double arrow razor if you like. You can find them on eBay as well from time to time. It's a 6/8 hollow, thick heavy blade
