Acqua di Selva After Shave
I find this scent to be one of the timeless and often overlooked scents avaliable. Developed back in the '40's, this after shave does have a strong overall scent to it. It is definately to be used sparingly.
Upon the initial application, the scent has a nice fresh lime presence along with some sort of musky scent and the contrast I find appealing. This scent is long lasting and strong. When I apply it, it seems to last on me more than 24 hours. The scent does mellow out when it's half life occurs. The musky scent is brought forward and the lime scent is still present although not as strong. This scent fits well with my body chemistry and the subtle yet lingering scent has good consistency throughout the life of the application. I find the scent to be refreshing and clean.
To me, this scent has a delightfully unique presence that is quite bold and completely overpowering if over-applied.
This scent is recommended by sellers for evening wear and I do agree with this. In my opinion, an office setting for this scent is out of place. This scent is better suited for an evening out on the town, but watch the amount of application or you might ruin your dinner haha.
As far as price, this stuff isnt the absolute cheapest stuff around ... but the price point (~$25) is quite reasonable. To me, this scent isnt for every day use but it is nice to have in the scent arsenal for those times when the scent is appropriate.
Overall, the scent is definately made for a man. There is no way a woman could sucessfully wear this stuff.
Honestly, I do like to try different colognes and I find this particular scent to be very unique and quite fun when applied properly.
Cheers !!

This is great stuff in my opinion. I have been using this one on and off for decades. Prior to this new section, I reviewed this product: http://www.straightrazorplace.com/fo...a-cologne.html
Whiskers, just wanted to tell you that there are others in the forum that like this scent. I was going to review other great and similar fragrances that I am very fond of but I did not see much interest in the audience. Good job.
Al raz.

Grumpy old sod
I am interested to learn about other scents that are similar to the Acqua di Selva line. It's just my experience, but I haven't found any scents that come close to this one. It's genuinely unique.
Also, it is good to know that this scent isnt completely lost to a generation gap.

Couldn't get into it
I must say I wasn't that impressed with the scent. Lemon cough drop smell, heavy on the lemon. But for some this may work as each has his own chemistry. It's worth a shot if you get your hands on some, mine will be up on the classifieds for free later today. Medium burn level with a nice soothing / conditioning quality and feel.
