Thread: Castle Forbes: 1445 Cologne

Packaging: I received this as a sample so I cannot attest to how well the product is packaged. However, many SRP members' have said the packaging is excellent for Castle Forbes products. For this I have rated the packaging at "N/A".

Price: $112 - 4.4oz/125mL This product has a hefty price tag to it given prices I've seen in department stores for other large name brands. When selecting this you'll know where you money has gone. Up in smoke maybe? Or, maybe the price reflects the quality of the ingredients and simple fact it has a unique scent unlike other name brand department store colognes.

Longevity of scent: I applied this over my Castle Forbes aftershave and the scent stays quite well all day. As with most scents I have come to expect the scent to become dormant until I blush or a lady gets close enough to enjoy it. However, when I apply the 1445 cologne with no aftershave it tends to dissipate rapidly and by nightfall my lady can hardly smell it. Note to self, use this in conjunction with the 1445 aftershave balm for best results and better chances of becoming Action Jackson on date night.

Scent: I love the scent! It has a nice musk scent once it settles down past the nice smell of the grasses and ferns. I can slightly smell the grasses when it is first applied. It is potent as most colognes are when first applied but dissipates quickly enough the lady does not need to pull the handle on the fire alarm when you give her the "good-bye, I'm off to work" morning kiss.
As a side note, I received compliments from a couple of gentlemen at work that could smell this as they walked down the hallway behind me.

Burn/Bite: It has a very small burn to it when you find a nick. For the most part I never really noticed much of any bite to this cologne even when I tested it without aftershave. When I used this cologne over the 1445 aftershave balm I didn't notice any bite at all.

Personal note: I really love the smell of 1445 and so does my lady. With any product I use whether it be cologne or aftershave I hold the product in much higher regards when I have positive results from my lady. After all, she is the one who should be enjoying it just as much as me. If I was single this product would still be rated high in my books. However, the longevity of the scent without the use of the matching 1445 aftershave balm is big downer. Especially for $112 a bottle.
