    Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the comments and tips!

    I've never had a blade that wouldn't eventually take an edge, and I'm hoping this isn't the first. If it won't, I might plan on some intricate carving in the bone and giving it to the local barber for his display.

    turned out quite nice.
    Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.
