Default The odd one out :)

These days it is very rare for it to happen, but sometimes a razor makes its own decisions about what it wants to look like. This one really is an odd one out. It was supposed to be a 9/8 but a grinding accident put a stop to that. And that results in a strange yet intriguing pattern.

Then when it become time for etching, for some reason the only thing that would stay is pure black with nickel steel lines. I considered several types of scales, but was drawn to the toxic orange and black kirinite.

That had a mind of its own too because in the orange, there are shimmering lines that are a bit like mother of pearl. So the end result is a razor that I didn't have in mind at all, but which is really special imo. It certainly seems to have a mind of its own. The end result is stunning imo, and something that I suspect will not soon be repeated.

The steel is O2 and 15N20 Damascus. The Damascus steel was made by Maarten Van Hattem. The scales and wedge are kirinite.

I think that is the nicest Damascus pattern I have seen yet. I find most patterns to be of some level of intrigued but I think this one is the best so far.

I agree with Shaun. All damascus makes me take a second look, but this one is really cool. Nice work Bruno.

Toxic orange and black kirinite scales are a perfect compliment to the black steel, especially with those hints of MoP matching up well with the shimmering nickel steel feathering. Love how you managed to pull out such a sweet result from chaos.

    Amazing razor there Bruno.

As Shaun and Andrew said, this is one of the most intriguing Damascus I've ever seen

Yeah the pattern is something. That grinding oopsie cost me 1/4 of blade width to correct so I lost the underside of that billet.
With hindsight, what came out makes sense but it's the first time I've seen a pattern like this. So it's a happy accident.
