Default James Barlow & Sons Restoration

This James Barlow & Sons came to me with a broken toe and a nasty crack. While grinding the damage out of the toe, the crack kept growing due to the vibration and temperature changes. It had me worried but I eventually caught up to it. I went with this new toe shape so that I could eliminate the crack while preserving as much of the cutting edge as possible. It also needed some heal and edge work. I didnít get too aggressive with the sanding because this blade has a very thin grind and the stamp is very light in parts. I sanded up to 800 grit on a sleeveless sanding drum and polished with green Dialux. The original Bakelite scales were broken at the pivot. I shotened them to fit the new blade size and made the original wedge a bit wedgier. Its pinned in brass with AJís cup washers.

Iím not in to shortie Blades, but at 2 3/4Ē, itís still a good length that Iím happy with.

nice save, 2 3/4 is still a reasonable length to not be considered a shorty IMHO. turned out great.

Nice save, tip of the hat from me as most wouldn't have gave that a second glance in its original state.

That looks good to me. I do like a Spanish point and that one looks great, much better than the alternative. Very nice work indeed.
