Default Henckels Friodur 7/8 spanish point

I had to come up with a different design for those large Henckels Friodur razors as David Stevens already is making those beautiful wooden scales for the John Crowley/shaving shop.

Cocobolo scales which is one of my favorites, brass pins with a mix of brass and silver washers. Pivot side comes with an adjustable since most of my customers prefer this. It's also much easier to replace an adjustable by a peened one at customers request as the other way around.

The weight and balance is just perfect. Doesn't even compare to those cheap crappy plastic scales that originally come with those razors.

    Henckels Friodur 7/8
    Scalloped "Diamond" Back
    Spanish Square Point
    Inox - No Stain
    Ice hardened (cryogenically treated)
    Total weight: 2.1 oz
    Cutting Edge: 2.75 inches
    Blade width: 7/8

Great looking work Max. The design of the scales looks awesome and your choice of wood really enhances the over all look of the razor. Fantastic.

Very nice job Max. I love cocobola also and your scale design fits the blade nicely.

I've got the same blade I did in lace wood. I'll post pics when I break out my light box again. I do have a pic or two of a Dorko 300 I did in cocobola. I'll post that in the Dorko club tonight.

Did you just buff the cocobolo or does it have a finish on it. Love the satin look

Very nicely done - that's a sick blade and very nice scales to match.

Oh, quick question - did you ice harden the blade or is that a Henckels factory thing?
