    Default Erusta - Boehlersteel - 6/8 ~ Paua

This is a scale job I did for one of our members.
It's a razor that belonged to his father's grandfather. I have to admit that the razor for being that old (18??) looked pretty much immaculate with just a few minor residual stains.
It's a gorgeous quality 6/8 piece of steel. It used to be a spike point but the point has been muted and slightly rounded throughout the razor's honing career and usage.
Frank decided on the acrylic Paua scales. I know... Those are getting pretty popular around here...

I used a transparent acrylic wedge and the usual nickel silver and brass pins and washers.

Pics don't even do them justice, really.

    Specs

    ERUSTA - Boehlerteel - Solingen - Germany
    Grind: 6/8 Full Hollow
    Total weight: 1.9 oz
Total cutting edge: close to 3 inches
Scales: Acrylic Paua shell with black backing
    Pins: Nickel Silver
    Washers: Silver and Brass
    Wedge: Transparent Acrylic

That's a job his great grand dad would be proud of. I'm sure he'll enjoy it.

That looks amazing! So, is that a faithful restoration to bring the razor back up to spec, or do you think the original may have been more subdued?
It jumps off the screen! I want one now.

Max - Consistency must be your middle name. Love that Paua.

Always good to come across the ones that are looked after and near original size even if they're someone else's.

The clear spacers are a wicked touch. Easy to make and shape and buff, then they turn out beautiful.
