    Default George Wostenholm - Celebrated I-XL - 5/8 Wedge

Here's a nice classic 5/8 George Wostenholm Celebrated I-XL Wedge.

Cleaned up really nice. The etching on the blade "Wostenholm's hollow ground" is still present but since I had to make a decision and opted for cleaning and polishing the blade it's less dominant but still present. A few barely noticable stains left but cleaned up really nicely.

This time I used a black linen micarta for the scales with a red/black recon stone for the wedge/spacer. Turned out really slick.

    Specs

George Wostenholm Celebrated I-XL (Wostenholm's hollow ground)
    total weight: 1.7 oz
    grind: wedge
    width: 5/8
    total cutting edge: 2.75 inch
    Wedge/Spacer: red/black jasper recon stone
    Pins and washers: Brass

It looks really clean & simple, but the wedge in there just adds a little glamour! High quality work as always Max.

    Thumbs up

    Simple and sweet.

I too really like that its simple but not at the same time. The wedge looks great with perfect fit and finnish.

You continure to choose really nice blades to resto !

nice, and in your experience is it common for them to etch it hollow but it actually be a wedge?

You call it a wedge but, prior to polishing out the etching, did the blade say anything about "medium" hollow ground?

    Beautiful job!!!

Nope, never said anything about 'Medium Hollow Ground'.

Technically I could call it at 1/8 hollow as it's probably slightly concaved going towards the edge. Here's a crop from one of my pics.
