Thread: Dubl Duck Dwarf goes red

This was a special case. I received a broken sheet of Paua with red backing which was a prototype but the material was way to thin to make scales. It also came with the acrylic that should have been glued on top over the Paua. So I had to figure out what to do with it since nothing goes to waste in my house.
I decided to revert the whole thing and after several trials and errors managed to get 1 set of scales out of the Paua sheet. Since it was so thin it kept cracking while sawing.
I used the transparent acrylic as backing. Nothing goes to waste and as my supplier told me, 'that’s how you turn garbage into gold'..

The Dwarf itself went through the whole voodoo cleaning and came back to life after all the mojo stuff like Red would say.

It's all in the eye of the beholder and someone will end up loving this color combination. I personally prefer the original Paua version I mostly use but the quality and crafstmanship is still the same.


Gilltette has the 'Lady Gillete' so why can't we have something similar

Na i think its pretty awesome, and the blade looks to be in great shape.

I like it. At certain angles, it looks like abalone celluloid. Amazing work, Max.

I think it's feminine, and beautiful, I wonder, if I got my wife addicted....hmmmmm.....I'm gonna show her tonight. might be a good way to get more "understanding". of course there'd have to be his and her strops, brushes etc.
