Default H. Boker gets a new life

This was a birthday gift project send to me. Actually it was purchased straight from the bay to get a full turnover.

The before pics show the condition so not much to add. Decision was made for the abalone/acrylic scales.

I completely gave this blade the total care and surgery needed and it took an awesome finish. It still amazes me how some blades (steel) can take such a high mirror finish while others can give a total different one. Even with the same technique and compounds used.

It is a very gorgeous looking blade. I can't pinpoint exactly what year it might come from but maybe some can. Any info would be appreciated as it would be nice for the birthday boy to get some history about his newly acquired straight razor gift.
I don't have any measurements as I had to hurry to wrap and ship it out.

    But I do know it's a H. Boker & Co.

    Wow!

Pretty fancy razor to start with, too.

perfect matchup! that worked spine somehow blends well with the crazy patterns of the scales. I'm jealous.

I have one of these and there real nice blades maybe one of my most easy to hone. I had this one on my watch to see how much it would go for. There has been a surprizing amount of them turning up on the bay as of late. The tree is on its side on this one so it should be 1924 or later? Some one like Doc can confirm if my memory serves me well. On mine the tree is standing wich is said to be a pre the cutting of the tree.

One thing I have noticed is alot of the "cutdown tree" spanish points seem to have a rounder point than most the early "standing tree" ones I have seen. Maybe just toe wear but it seems to exist in little honed razors too. Or perhaps its just coincidence. Nice save Max!

    Beautiful work Max.
That style tree logo was used around 1924 to 35 I belive. Hard to see in the picture, but that's in the area.
