Exclamation Fancy 6 Day Set: #5 Thursday- Fivory

Here is the fifth razor of the set finished. Again, Thomas Turton & Sons, Sheffield with fancy spines. Scales are paper ivory micarta with a hand-fileworked spacer. The scale material is a very close resemblant of real ivory (just no grain when looking up close). As someone said in another thread lately, paper ivory shows any discoloration when any contaminants hit it during buffing and is a real pain in that respect. But man, these scales feel amazing. This may be one of my favorite sets of scales that I've ever done for some odd reason- they really make a tribute to the original ivory scales that were once on these razors. Anyway, it's hard to make out the etching in the photos (Thursday on top of the spine), but it is more visible up close.

Thats one cool looking razor. Olivia is right, I love the wedge, I'll have to try that one day.
